Three Branches of Government

Congressional Committees

There are five types of Congressional Committees:

Standing Committees
These are permanent committees within the Senate and House.

Sub Committees:
Standing committees that are broken into smaller committees.

Select Committees: These are temporary committees created to deal with a specific issue.

Joint Committees: Composed of members from both the Senate and the House.

Conference Committees: These committees abuse power by adding expensive ammendments to bills.
